Mike M. has just finished the EP for modern rock trio Black Market Candy. The four-song EP was released on Dec. 07 at a party at the Brass Monkey Pub in Ottawa.

Tour 2013
We are still looking for possible venues for a EU Tour by The Rain and the Sidewalk in 2013. We have some possible locations in NL, Belgium and Germany, so if you are a alternative booker in these countries, please get in touch! The band is also eager to co-operate with another band for multiple dates, too, so if you are a band planning on touring these countires, also get in touch!

Radio in UK

Premiere goth radio station Nightbreed Radio in the UK will be playing tracks by The Rain and the Sidewalk starting January 2013 - feel free to request the band!

We just did some production work for Ottawa's ODCS and The Ballet Society of Ottawa/Gatineau's Celebration Gala last Friday, Feb 24.

In addition to creating the posters, programs and other print materials, and helping coordinate the logistics, we also prepared the audio fro the event at the 800-capacity Centrepointe Theatre in Ottawa the hundreds who attended were treated to performances of many of Otttawa/Gatineau's finest dance schools, plus guest performances and participation by members of Ballet Jorgen Canada, and Julia Adam of the Joffrey Ballet.

It celebrated the 40th anniversasry of Ottawa Dance Centre Schools and the career of Dance legend Lawrence Gradus. The response was so positive that there is talk of making it a biannual or annual event.

Congratulations to Ottawa Dance Centre Schools on 40 years of being one of the finest dance schools on Ottawa!

The Rain and the Sidewalk, have just released a new digital EP. It is the four-song Stuck, and the songs are available as a FREE download from the band's site. You can also get them through our SoundCoud page.

Recorded in 2011, the EP features re-workings of Hollow and Slow Motion Shattering, as well as covers of Kate Bush's Army Dreamers and Vancouver band The Organ's It's Time to Go.
All songs feature Shannon Hallett on vocals and Trevor Michael Thompson on backing vocals and instruments.

We got yet another label started! Vicious Mini is releasing online versions of indie CDs and tapes from a few years ago. Compilations of EPs by punk/post-punk/rockers Betty Kracker, power poppers shrimpmeat are now available through BandCamp.

A new video has been posted for Betty Kracker's S.C.W.. It's a tribute to the Occcupy event of 10/15; the song was recorded in 2005, but is as relevant as if it was recorded yesterday. Check it out!

The Rain and the Sidewalk will be releasing an EP called Stuck in the next few weeks. There are also new videos up on YouTube for the songs Hollow and Did I Never See Your Face?, both recorded and shot live @ Vancouver's faceplant.

The Rain and the Sidewalk's Wayde Compton has launched his fourth book, the non-fiction From Canaan to Vancouver, this month!

The Rain and the Sidewalk will be spending the first part of 2011 writing and recording the next two releases.The next release, Nadir, will be out soon.

Also, the Weakness double CD is now available as a download for sale on SoundClick.

And last but not least, we've added another video to our video page; this one is a live song by Arthur Ellis 2000 from a show @ The Brickyard (Vancouver) in 2001.
